Before the sun rose to illuminate St. Paul University at San Miguel, the day had already begun as the Paulinians gathered and undertook the crucial task of preparing for three significant community outreach programs in Mandile, San Miguel Bulacan: a feeding program, disaster preparedness, and a clean-up drive.
Attendance was taken promptly, with each student submitting their signed waivers and medical certificates. These documents were essential to confirm the students' fitness for participation and to ensure they were aware of the safety protocols. SPUSM Kolehiyo then made its way to their respective jeepney numbers, bottling up their energy. The boarding process was organized efficiently, supervised by the Good Governance and Social Responsibility team, headed by their esteemed College Coordinator, Mr. Jose C. Lazaro Jr.- ensuring all students were accounted for and seated comfortably
The preparations were infused with a spirit of CHRIST-CENTEREDNESS. Before boarding the jeepneys, the students took a moment to pray for guidance and success in their mission. This prayer set the tone for the day's activities, reminding everyone of the importance of serving with a heart inspired by Christ’s teachings. With the preliminary checks completed, the students boarded jeepneys arranged for their transportation to Mandile. The disaster preparedness program aimed to educate the local COMMUNITY on how to respond effectively to natural disasters. This aspect of their preparation reflected their sense of COMMISSION, empowering others to be self-reliant and prepared. The preparation for the clean-up drive, undertaken by the remaining students, was marked by enthusiasm and dedication. They gathered cleaning supplies, such as trash bags, gloves, and rakes, and planned the areas of Mandile that required attention. This preparation ensured the clean-up drive would be efficient and thorough. The students’ CHARISM shone through in their spirited approach and commitment to making a tangible difference in the environment. The principle of CHARITY is evident by offering their help to the community of Mandile.
The preparation activities demonstrated the college students' collective effort and camaraderie. . Their efforts ensured that each program was set up effectively, laying the groundwork for a successful day of community service. The feeding program, disaster preparedness, and clean-up drive were poised to not only meet immediate needs but also to strengthen community bonds and resilience.
