March is traditionally celebrated as National Women’s Month not just to commemorate the profound influence of women in several years ago but also to honor every female in the community.
Proclamation No. 224 s. 1988, “Declaring the First Week of March of Every Year as Women’s Week and March 8, 1988, and Every Year Thereafter as Women’s Rights and International Peace Day.” Signed by former President Corazon C. Aquino on March 1, 1988, affirmed our solidarity with the United Nations and recognized Filipino women’s contribution to the struggle for national independence, civil liberties, equality, and human rights.
As Paulinians, we embody the value of TRANQUIL-DARING that fuels up the courage and resilience in the face of adversity. This spirit allows the community to push boundaries that empower women to work beyond their capacity. A PRAYERFUL mindset is the foundation on which we build our commitment to gender equality and inclusivity through centering our actions and intentions in prayer to cultivate a compassionate and empathetic community that listens to the voices. By humbly acknowledging the privileges and contributions we made, Paulinians radiate the spirit of SELF-EFFACING who work towards dismantling the barriers that hinders women to accelerate progress. The women of St. Paul University at San Miguel is widely known for being ALL-TO-ALL, ensuring that their hands reach everyone, especially the underserved communities.
In line with the theme, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society”, St. Paul University at San Miguel is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse community in a sense of amplifying the voices of every individual. As we conclude this month of March, let us commit ourselves to promoting gender equality in our daily lives, challenging stereotypes, and advocating for policies that promote equal rights and opportunities for all. Let us work together to build a society where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive and contribute to the betterment of our community and the world at large.
